Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Stance on Infiltration in West Bengal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a public meeting in Jhargram, West Bengal, voiced his concerns about the alleged role of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Congress in supporting infiltrators.

Modi alleged that the TMC is facilitating the settlement of infiltrators in the region, leading to a decrease in the population of native Bengalis in border areas. He further claimed that these infiltrators are taking over the lands of Dalits, backward, and tribal communities.

The Prime Minister pointed fingers at the TMC and Congress, accusing them of endorsing these infiltrators. “TMC-Congress together want to make the occupation of infiltrators legal,” he stated, triggering a series of discussions and debates across the political spectrum.

Infiltration has been a hot-button issue in West Bengal for quite some time, with political parties often having differing views on how to tackle it. The Prime Minister’s recent comments are likely to stir the pot and intensify this ongoing debate.
