BJP Workers Stabbed in Mangaluru: Opposition Slams Karnataka Government

Date:

BENGALURU: The streets of Mangaluru turned into scenes of terror on Sunday night as miscreants targeted two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers, leaving them wounded. The attack, which occurred during celebrations for Narendra Modi’s third term inauguration as Prime Minister, has ignited a fierce backlash from the opposition BJP against the state government.

According to reports, the victims, Harish Anchan and Nandakumar, were enthusiastically celebrating PM Modi’s electoral victory, chanting “Bharat Mata ki Jai,” when they were brutally stabbed by assailants identified as Aboobakkar, Bashir, Siddik, Monu, and 20 others. The BJP, through its official channels, condemned the incident, drawing parallels to a bygone era of political violence.

In a scathing statement, the BJP accused the Siddaramaiah-led government of fostering an environment of intolerance and insecurity. “It feels like the ‘Thuglak era is back in Karnataka,’ where shouting ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ is no longer safe,” the party lamented. The incident, it argued, is emblematic of the deteriorating law-and-order situation in the state.

State BJP president BY Vijayendra minced no words in criticizing the government’s failure to uphold law and order. “The Congress government’s appeasement policies have emboldened fundamentalists, leading to a breakdown in public safety,” he asserted, warning of potential repercussions if swift action is not taken.

The stabbing incident in Mangaluru has reignited concerns over the rising tide of violence and aggression, prompting calls for immediate intervention to restore peace and security. “This is a stark reminder of the increasing violence and chaos, underscoring the urgent need for stronger governance and security measures,” the BJP emphasized.

Adding fuel to the fire, the BJP also condemned a separate attack on an ambulance driver near Nelamangala, further highlighting what it perceives as the failure of the current administration to maintain law and order. “Cases of assaulting innocent people, extortion, and murders have become rampant under the Congress rule,” the party lamented, pointing fingers at Home Minister Dr. G Parameshwara for what it perceives as a lack of effective leadership.

As tensions escalate, the spotlight remains firmly fixed on the Karnataka government’s response to these incidents, with the BJP issuing a stern warning that it will not hesitate to escalate its protests if action is not promptly taken to address the deteriorating security situation.
