Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid out his vision for India’s future as a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) at the ‘Journey Towards Viksit Bharat: A Post Union Budget 2024-25 Conference,’ hosted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The conference, held in New Delhi, served as a forum for discussing the latest Union Budget and its implications for the nation’s development.

In his keynote address, Modi celebrated the remarkable strides made in poverty reduction over the past decade, revealing that 25 crore people have moved out of poverty. He attributed this achievement to the government’s concerted efforts to improve the Ease of Living and Quality of Life across the country.

Highlighting the success of several key government initiatives, Modi pointed to the Mudra Scheme, Startup India, and Standup India as critical drivers of economic empowerment. “These programs have empowered over 8 crore individuals to start their own businesses, reflecting our commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and self-reliance,” Modi stated.

The Prime Minister also detailed the provisions of the newly announced ₹2 lakh crore PM Package, designed to benefit over 4 crore young people. This comprehensive package aims to bolster India’s workforce and enhance the global competitiveness of Indian products. Modi also introduced new internship schemes and EPFO contribution incentives, intended to create more job opportunities and provide additional support to employers.

“Our approach is holistic and forward-thinking,” Modi explained. “The budget’s focus on skill development, employment generation, and economic empowerment is key to transforming India into a global leader.”

The conference provided a platform for industry experts and policymakers to engage in discussions on how best to implement these initiatives and drive continued progress. With a strong emphasis on economic reforms and support for innovation and entrepreneurship, the government’s strategy aims to ensure that India not only meets its developmental goals but also sets a benchmark for global competitiveness.
