Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the landslide-affected areas of Wayanad, Kerala, today to review the ongoing response and evacuation efforts following the recent natural disaster. The visit included a comprehensive briefing on the status of relief operations and the immediate needs of the affected population.

Accompanying the Prime Minister were Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan and Union Minister Suresh Gopi. Their joint presence highlights the central government’s commitment to addressing the crisis and supporting the state’s recovery efforts.

During the visit, Modi was provided with an in-depth overview of the situation by local officials and disaster management teams. The briefing covered the scale of the landslide damage, the progress of evacuation operations, and the logistical challenges involved in providing relief to the displaced residents.

“Seeing the impact of the landslides firsthand has reinforced the urgency of our response,” Modi stated after the briefing. “We are dedicated to ensuring that the necessary support reaches those in need quickly and efficiently. The central government will continue to work closely with state authorities to facilitate a thorough and effective recovery.”

Governor Arif Mohammed Khan and Union Minister Suresh Gopi were actively involved in coordinating the visit and providing updates on the progress of relief efforts. Their participation underscores the importance of collaborative efforts between central and state governments in managing the crisis and addressing the needs of affected communities.

In response to the visit, the central government is expected to announce additional support measures, including financial aid for infrastructure repair, emergency relief supplies, and assistance for displaced families. The aim is to provide both immediate relief and long-term support to help Wayanad recover from the extensive damage caused by the landslides.

Prime Minister Modi’s visit, along with the Governor and Union Minister, serves as a critical step in ensuring that the disaster response is both coordinated and effective.
