Former Karnataka CM DV Sadananda Gowda Urges Resignation of CM Siddaramaiah

Date:

Former Karnataka Chief Minister and senior BJP leader DV Sadananda Gowda has called for the resignation of the current Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah, following the Governor’s recent sanction for prosecution in a high-profile case.

Speaking to the media, Gowda underscored the sustained efforts of the BJP in protesting and demanding accountability from the state government. “We have been protesting for several days now. The Governor has permitted prosecution, and it is high time for the CM to step down,” Gowda stated.

Gowda’s remarks come in the wake of the Governor’s approval for legal action, which has intensified the political debate in Karnataka. The BJP has been vocal in its criticism of the Siddaramaiah administration, accusing it of corruption and mismanagement.

“The decision by the Governor to permit prosecution is a significant step,” Gowda emphasized. “Given the gravity of the situation and the ongoing protests, it is only appropriate for CM Siddaramaiah to resign and allow for a fair investigation.”

The call for Siddaramaiah’s resignation reflects the BJP’s strategy to leverage the legal sanction as a means to challenge the current government’s legitimacy. With the political climate in Karnataka already charged, Gowda’s demand adds further pressure on the Chief Minister and the ruling Congress party.

As the situation develops, the impact of these political maneuvers on Karnataka’s governance and upcoming elections remains to be seen. The BJP’s continued focus on this issue signals a determination to capitalize on the controversy and shift the political momentum in their favor.
