BJP MLA Dr. CN Ashwath Narayan Criticizes Congress Government’s Policies, Claims Economic Instability and Rising Crime

Date:

BJP MLA Dr. CN Ashwath Narayan has sharply criticized the Karnataka state government, led by the Congress party, for its economic and law and order policies, claiming that they have led to severe inflation, financial instability for businesses, and a surge in crime. Speaking about the ongoing protests against the government’s policies, Narayan outlined how the state’s economic situation has deteriorated since the Congress assumed power.

“The inflation in Karnataka has exceeded the national average by 2%, making it difficult for businesses to sustain operations,” Narayan said, highlighting the economic challenges faced by local industries. He went on to explain that since the Congress government took office, essential goods and services have seen a sharp increase in prices, including a tripling of milk prices and soaring costs of diesel and petrol.

“The manufacturing sector is struggling to cope with escalating input costs,” Narayan added, emphasizing the growing burden on industries. He also pointed to the rising electricity tariffs and continuous annual increments that are straining the financial stability of businesses. “With electricity tariffs doubling and annual increments continuing, industries are facing an unsustainable financial load,” he stated, underscoring the adverse impact on the business environment.

Narayan accused the Congress government of failing to create a conducive atmosphere for economic growth, claiming that its policies have led to job losses and discouraged new investments. “Instead of fostering employment, these policies are leading to job losses, discouraging new investments, and even pushing existing industries towards shutdown,” he said. Narayan argued that the economic instability made it pointless to hold a Global Investors’ Summit, which he claimed would do little beyond facilitating land acquisition scandals.

In addition to economic concerns, Narayan also took aim at the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, stating that crime rates have spiked under the current administration. “Law and order have completely collapsed in the state with rising incidents of crime, daylight robberies, and unchecked violence,” he said. He expressed frustration that instead of addressing these pressing issues, the state government appeared to be more focused on personal gains and corruption. “Instead of addressing these grave issues, the administration is focused on personal gains and corruption, failing to serve the people of Karnataka,” Narayan concluded.

Narayan’s remarks paint a grim picture of the state’s economic and security situation, reflecting widespread discontent among the opposition. The BJP MLA’s criticism comes amid ongoing protests and public disillusionment with the Congress government’s handling of the state’s affairs. As the situation continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how the government will respond to these concerns and whether the opposition’s criticisms will gain traction among the electorate.
