Bengaluru, Karnataka – On the occasion of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Foundation Day, BJP MLA Dr. CN Ashwath Narayan extended his heartfelt wishes to fellow citizens, celebrating both Ram Navami and the party’s Foundation Day, which coincided on April 6th.
In his speech, Narayan highlighted the growth of the BJP over the years, emphasizing its rise as the largest political party in the world. “The BJP has grown tremendously over the years, emerging as the largest political party in the world with the highest number of members in the largest democracy on the planet,” he said. Narayan reaffirmed the party’s core values, stating, “Our commitment has always been—Nation First, Party Next.” He further acknowledged the sacrifices made by countless workers and leaders who have helped build the party and the nation.
Dr. Narayan also called for strengthening the party to make it more transparent, accountable, and progressive. “Thousands of our workers and leaders have worked selflessly and even sacrificed their lives to build this great nation and the party… We must strengthen the party, make it more transparent, accountable, and progressive,” he added, urging party members to continue their dedication to public service.
However, the MLA also took the opportunity to address a recent tragic incident that has sparked significant controversy. Referring to the suicide of BJP worker Vinay Somaiah, who reportedly named Congress MLAs AS Ponnanna and Mantar Gowda in his death note, Dr. Narayan condemned what he described as the Congress party’s tactics of revenge politics and harassment. “Since coming to power, Congress has indulged in revenge politics, abuse of power, and harassment of BJP workers, citizens, and even elected representatives,” he said.
Narayan expressed deep concern over the tragic death of Vinay Somaiah, asserting that Somaiah took his own life due to political pressure, harassment, and vendetta. “His death note clearly named two MLAs and two other individuals responsible for the mental torture he faced,” Narayan stated. Despite the apparent evidence, Narayan claimed that only one individual had been booked, while no action had been taken against the named Congress MLAs. “This is a complete misuse of power and a failure of the police system to uphold the law,” Narayan said, calling for justice and accountability in the case.
The comments from Dr. Narayan have added fuel to the ongoing political tensions in Karnataka, with the BJP continuing to accuse the Congress of using political power to intimidate and harass opposition members. As the investigation into Vinay Somaiah’s death continues, the allegations of political vendetta and abuse of power remain a highly contentious issue in the state.
