Bengaluru: BJP Leader Dr. C. N. Ashwath Narayan Exposes Rs 15,000 Crore Smart Meter Scam in Karnataka

Date:

BJP leader Dr. C. N. Ashwath Narayan has accused the Karnataka government of involvement in a major corruption scandal, claiming a Rs 15,000 crore scam related to the installation of smart meters. Speaking to the media, he said the issue had been brought to the attention of the Power Department, but there had been no response.

“Rs 15,000 crore Smart meter scam is the latest scam in Karnataka. We have brought this to the notice of the Power Department, but we have got no response from them,” Dr. Narayan stated. He further added, “In this regard, we have filed a complaint with the Lokayukta and also with the Auditor General.”

In response to growing public dissatisfaction, he announced that the BJP would start an online petition to gather support for investigating the scam. Dr. Narayan also expressed concerns over the rising power tariffs in the state, which he believes are adding to the burden on citizens.

“Since corruption has become the order of the day, the public is fed up. If you look at the Power Department, it has been raising the power tariffs,” he said, demanding a full investigation into the alleged scam.
