LoP R Ashoka Slams Karnataka Govt Over Suhas Shetty Murder, Recalls 2013 Killings

Date:

The murder of Suhas Shetty in Mangaluru has sparked strong political reactions, with Karnataka Assembly Leader of Opposition R Ashoka accusing the state government of inaction and selective silence on sensitive issues.

Speaking to reporters, Ashoka said, “The entire Mangaluru is in a state of tension after Suhas Shetty’s murder. In 2013, when Siddaramaiah was CM, 36 Hindus were murdered here. Suhas Shetty was brutally murdered. State government never takes action against those who raise slogans like ‘Pakistan Zindabad’.”

Ashoka’s remarks have intensified the political war of words in Karnataka, as the BJP targets the Congress-led state government over law and order, particularly in coastal Karnataka. The opposition leader’s comments link the current unrest to a history of communal violence and accuse the administration of failing to address provocative acts and safeguard citizens effectively.

The state government has yet to issue an official response regarding the allegations or the ongoing investigation into Shetty’s murder.
