DV Sadananda Gowda Backs Salman Khurshid on Kashmir, Urges Opposition Leaders to Join BJP in Fight Against Terrorism

Date:

Bengaluru — Former Karnataka Chief Minister and senior BJP leader DV Sadananda Gowda on Thursday responded to recent remarks by multiple opposition leaders, supporting some while sharply dismissing others.

Reacting to Congress leader Salman Khurshid’s statement on the situation in Kashmir, Gowda said, “What he said is the reality in Kashmir at present. He has explained it.” Though he did not elaborate on the specific remarks, his response appeared to acknowledge a rare alignment on the region’s current state.

Commenting on Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, Gowda praised select opposition figures, saying, “There are a few good people in the opposition. I ask them to join hands with BJP and put an end to terrorism.” His invitation comes amid heightened national focus on security and anti-terror efforts following Operation Sindoor.

However, Gowda dismissed Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s recent statement — though without referencing the content directly — with a sharp retort: “For another 1000 years, it may not be possible.” The remark signals strong disagreement with the Telangana CM’s political stance or expectations from the Centre.
