Union Minister Pralhad Joshi Slams Karnataka Govt Over Bengaluru Stampede, Calls for Judicial Inquiry

Date:

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi strongly criticized the Karnataka government over the recent Bengaluru stampede incident, calling it a grave failure of administration and demanding a judicial probe.

“Kumbh and this incident are totally incomparable,” Joshi said, referring to attempts by some to draw parallels between the two events. “People died, but you (Karnataka CM) continued to celebrate. Why did your Deputy CM go to receive them?” he questioned, expressing anger over the government’s response.

He further demanded accountability, asking, “When police denied [permission], who forced them to give it?” Joshi insisted that only a judicial inquiry could uncover the full truth behind the tragedy.

The stampede, which occurred during a public event in Bengaluru, has sparked widespread outrage and political backlash, with the BJP accusing the Congress-led state government of negligence.
