BJP Leader R Ashok Leads Protest Against Karnataka Govt’s Land Acquisition in Ramnagara

Date:

Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly and senior BJP leader R Ashok led a protest in Ramnagara against the state government’s alleged move to acquire farmers’ land without their consent. Addressing the gathering, Ashok accused the Congress government of forcibly acquiring over 9,000 acres of farmland, sparking widespread anger among local farmers.

Speaking to the media during the protest, R Ashok said, “We came here to protest against the Karnataka government, which is acquiring land of farmers without their consent. The Congress government is acquiring over 9,000 acres of land. We fully support the farmers’ agitation.”

The BJP leader criticized the ruling government for what he termed “anti-farmer policies”, demanding immediate withdrawal of the acquisition plans. He emphasized that the livelihoods of thousands of farmers are at stake and called for transparent dialogue and fair compensation if any land acquisition is deemed necessary for development projects.

Farmers participating in the protest expressed concerns over losing their agricultural lands, highlighting the impact on their income and way of life. The BJP has announced that it will continue to stand with the farmers until the Congress government addresses their demands and ensures that land acquisition follows proper legal and ethical procedures.
