BJP’s BY Vijayendra Slams Siddaramaiah Government, Calls It “Corrupt and Anti-Farmer”

Date:

Bengaluru, Karnataka: State BJP President BY Vijayendra launched a sharp attack on the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government, accusing it of corruption, mismanagement, and neglect of Karnataka’s development.

Speaking to the media after meeting former Chief Minister and Union Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy along with senior BJP leaders Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, MLA Krishnappa, and Ramamurthy to extend Diwali greetings, Vijayendra said that while the BJP continues to engage with leaders across the state, the Congress government “has been doing nothing apart from looting in the last 2.5 years.”

Citing allegations of corruption, Vijayendra referred to an open letter written by Basavaraj Rayareddy, the financial advisor to CM Siddaramaiah, who highlighted a loss of over ₹400 crore annually due to the sand mafia. “Even insiders are now exposing the rot within the government,” he said.

He also criticized the government’s response to industrial voices. “When respected industry leaders like Mohandas Pai and Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw express their opinion on governance, Deputy CM DK Shivakumar and his cabinet colleagues publicly criticise them instead of addressing their concerns,” Vijayendra remarked.

Drawing attention to poor infrastructure and farmers’ issues, the BJP leader said, “What is the state of the roads today? I urge DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah to take criticism positively. They should come to the rescue of distressed farmers instead of blaming the previous BJP government.”

Challenging the ruling party for transparency, Vijayendra added, “It is very easy for DK Shivakumar to blame the BJP. Let him come for an open debate.” He asserted that the Congress government is least bothered about Karnataka’s development, calling it “a corrupt and anti-farmer government.”
