BJP’s BY Vijayendra Says Karnataka Public Opinion Matters More Than Congress Remarks

Date:

Bengaluru: State BJP President BY Vijayendra on Sunday dismissed remarks made by the Congress and minister Priyank Kharge, stating that their opinions hold little relevance compared to the voice of the people. Addressing reporters, Vijayendra said the BJP is “least bothered” about what Congress leaders think, emphasizing that the sentiments of voters in Karnataka, Bihar, and across India are far more significant.

“The Congress party, Priyank Kharge — they have their own opinion. The BJP is least bothered about their opinion,” Vijayendra said. “The opinions of the people of Karnataka, the opinions of Bihar voters, and the opinions of Indians are more important.”

Vijayendra claimed that the Congress government in Karnataka is facing widespread dissatisfaction, arguing that voters in the state are disillusioned with its performance. He alleged that growing public frustration has created strong anti-incumbency sentiments.

“The people of Karnataka are fed up with Congress. There is a severe anti-incumbency against the Congress government,” he said, adding that this discontent is the reason Congress is “hesitant to hold all local body elections.”

According to Vijayendra, the ruling party is avoiding local polls because it fears a backlash from voters, which could reflect poorly on its governance record. He asserted that the BJP continues to engage closely with the public and remains confident that voters will express their displeasure with the current administration at the first opportunity.

The political discourse in Karnataka has intensified in recent weeks, with both parties trading accusations ahead of crucial electoral processes.
