Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that India’s partnership with Italy continues to deepen across multiple strategic sectors, following his meeting with Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani. Modi shared details of the engagement in a post on social media, describing the interaction as productive and encouraging for bilateral cooperation.

“Delighted to meet Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, today,” the Prime Minister wrote, noting the progress both countries have made in implementing the Italy–India Joint Strategic Action Plan 2025–2029. Modi said he conveyed his appreciation for the “proactive steps” taken by both governments to advance collaboration under the plan.

The roadmap covers a wide range of sectors, including trade, investment, research, innovation, defence, space, connectivity, counter-terrorism, education, and people-to-people ties, all of which Modi highlighted as areas showing strong momentum. “India–Italy friendship continues to get stronger, greatly benefiting our people and the global community,” he added.

The meeting comes amid growing cooperation between New Delhi and Rome, with both nations seeking to expand strategic coordination in the Indo-Pacific, boost economic engagement, and enhance cultural and academic exchanges as part of their long-term partnership.
