Union Minister Pralhad Joshi Criticizes Congress Party During Karnataka BJP’s Padayatra Over Alleged Scams

Date:

In a charged political atmosphere, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has intensified his critique of the Congress party amidst the Karnataka BJP’s ongoing Padayatra. The rally, aimed at protesting alleged scams involving the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) and the Valmiki Corporation, has become a focal point of contention between the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress.

During a recent address at the Padayatra, Joshi launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, accusing it of having “scam and corruption in its DNA.” He drew a historical line of corruption allegations, asserting, “Since 1952, whenever there has been a Congress party government at the Centre, there have been huge scams—from Nehru ji to Manmohan Singh. Siddaramaiah has continued this legacy.”

Joshi’s comments were directed at Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who is from the Congress party. The Padayatra, which has garnered significant attention, highlights allegations of mismanagement and corruption within MUDA and the Valmiki Corporation—claims that the BJP is leveraging to bolster their political stance in Karnataka.

The BJP’s move comes as part of a broader strategy to capitalize on public discontent and gain electoral advantage in the state. The Padayatra has seen substantial participation from BJP supporters and leaders, who have echoed Joshi’s criticisms and called for accountability from the Congress-led state government.

In response, Congress officials have dismissed the allegations as politically motivated and an attempt to distract from the BJP’s own governance challenges. They argue that the accusations against MUDA and the Valmiki Corporation are being exaggerated for political gain.

As the political drama unfolds, the Padayatra continues to draw large crowds and media attention, setting the stage for an intense political battle in Karnataka. The coming weeks will likely see increased scrutiny of both the alleged scams and the ongoing political rhetoric from both sides.
