BJP Files Criminal Complaint Against Rahul Gandhi Over Controversial Remarks

Date:

In a significant political move, BJP leader and former Bengaluru Police Commissioner Bhaskar Rao announced that the party has filed a criminal complaint against Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. The complaint alleges that Gandhi’s recent comments have incited divisiveness among communities, particularly targeting Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and Scheduled Castes (SCs).

Rao highlighted Gandhi’s remarks made during a recent event in the United States, where he suggested that Sikhs are not safe in India. “These kinds of statements paint a very poor picture of the country from someone in such an important position,” Rao stated, emphasizing the potential harm such comments can cause to communal harmony.

Drawing a parallel to historical events, Rao referenced how Indira Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi’s grandmother, responded to criticisms on foreign soil. He noted, “When confronted about her actions, she firmly stated that these are internal matters of the country. Rahul Gandhi should learn from his grandmother.”

The BJP leader further stressed that the complaint details how Gandhi’s statements have contributed to spreading hatred and division among communities. “The offence is non-bailable, cognisable, and merits registration of an FIR,” he asserted, underlining the seriousness of the allegations.

As political tensions rise, the complaint against Gandhi is expected to escalate the ongoing rivalry between the BJP and Congress, with both parties gearing up for the upcoming elections. The situation will be closely monitored as it unfolds, potentially influencing voter sentiment in the lead-up to the polls.
