Karnataka BJP President BY Vijayendra Defends BS Yediyurappa Amid Party Infighting

Date:

Karnataka BJP President BY Vijayendra has strongly defended former Chief Minister and senior party leader BS Yediyurappa after BJP MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal made controversial remarks against him.

Responding to Yatnal’s criticism, Vijayendra highlighted Yediyurappa’s contributions to the state and his leadership in uniting various communities under the BJP’s fold.

“Yediyurappa has worked to gain the trust of all communities in the state. He has fought as the voice of everyone,” Vijayendra stated, rejecting any attempts to undermine the veteran leader’s legacy.

He further dismissed the notion that attacking Yediyurappa would yield political benefits, calling it a “misguided illusion.”

“Thinking that criticizing Yediyurappa will help in political growth is just an illusion,” he added.

The remarks come amid growing internal rifts within the Karnataka BJP, with Yatnal often making bold statements against senior party leaders. Yediyurappa, a towering figure in Karnataka politics, has played a crucial role in the BJP’s rise in the state, making any attacks on him a sensitive issue within the party.

Political analysts believe that Vijayendra’s defense of his father, Yediyurappa, signals a move to reinforce the former CM’s influence and contain factionalism within the party ahead of crucial elections.

With tensions brewing in the Karnataka BJP, it remains to be seen how the leadership will handle internal differences while maintaining party unity.
