Tamil Nadu BJP Chief K Annamalai Reacts to Kannada Actress Ranya Rao’s Gold Smuggling Case

Date:

Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai has expressed concern over the involvement of Kannada actress Ranya Rao in a gold smuggling case, calling it a “big cause of concern” for the public. Speaking about the issue, Annamalai said he was deeply disappointed to see that “so-called eminent people” were at the center of such activities, which has raised questions about the integrity of the system.

“It is a big cause of concern… I feel very sorry that when these issues are happening, the so-called eminent people are at the centre of that issue. It makes us question the whole system,” Annamalai remarked, reflecting his unease over the high-profile nature of the case.

Ranya Rao, who is known for her work in the Kannada film industry, was reportedly arrested in connection with a gold smuggling ring, which has sparked widespread media attention. The case has raised questions regarding the involvement of well-known figures in illicit activities and the role of authorities in tackling such issues.

Annamalai further expressed relief that the authorities were able to apprehend those involved, adding that the incident could cause a general suspicion towards others traveling with similar items. “I am happy that we are able to catch them at least now. Because of that, everyone who is traveling like that will seem suspicious,” he said.

The BJP leader also emphasized the need for a thorough and impartial investigation. “Let there be a free and fair investigation. Whoever is behind it should go behind bars. Let us wait for the investigation to complete,” he concluded, calling for justice to be served through the legal process.

The gold smuggling case continues to draw public attention, with authorities focusing on uncovering the full scope of the operation. Annamalai’s remarks underscore the importance of transparency and accountability in the investigation.
