PM Modi: ‘Made in India’ EVs to Power Global Markets, Japan a Trusted Partner

Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday highlighted a significant leap in India’s industrial and technological journey, announcing that electric vehicles (EVs) manufactured in India will soon make their mark across dozens of countries.

Calling it a new chapter in the Make in India initiative, PM Modi emphasized the vision of “Make in India, Make for the World,” underscoring India’s ambition not just to serve its domestic market but to emerge as a global manufacturing hub.

“Soon, EVs across dozens of countries will carry the mark ‘Made in India.’ These efforts will shape a Viksit Bharat by 2047,” the Prime Minister said, stressing the country’s roadmap for sustainable growth and technological self-reliance.

Highlighting India’s international collaborations, PM Modi described Japan as a trusted partner in this mission. He noted that the India-Japan partnership has consistently strengthened over the years, spanning infrastructure, technology, trade, and clean energy. The shared commitment towards green mobility and innovation, he said, will further cement bilateral ties while contributing to global sustainability goals.

India has already emerged as one of the fastest-growing EV markets, with government incentives, localized production, and rapid adoption of charging infrastructure boosting the sector. The expansion into global markets, analysts suggest, will enhance India’s position in the world EV value chain, while creating new opportunities for exports and employment.

With this vision, PM Modi reaffirmed that India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047 will be driven by innovation, manufacturing, and global partnerships, with green mobility at its core.
