The India Post will launch a new ‘24 Speed Post’ service starting March 17, 2026, aimed at providing faster and time-bound delivery of parcels and documents. The service will guarantee next-day delivery for consignments sent through this facility.
Service Launch Event in New Delhi
The new service will be formally launched by Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia and Minister of State for Communications Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani.
The launch event will be held on March 17 at 12:30 PM at the Rang Bhavan Auditorium in Akashvani Bhavan, New Delhi, in the presence of senior officials from the postal department.
Service to Begin in Six Major Cities
In the first phase, the ‘24 Speed Post’ service will be introduced in six major metropolitan cities:
- Delhi
- Mumbai
- Chennai
- Kolkata
- Bengaluru
- Hyderabad
Under this service, parcels and documents will be delivered the next day after dispatch, offering customers faster delivery options.
D+1 and D+2 Delivery Timeframes
Along with the new service, ‘24’ and ‘48’ Speed Post services will ensure D+1 (next-day) and D+2 delivery timelines respectively.
This will be achieved through dedicated processing windows and priority air transportation, enabling quicker and more reliable logistics services.
Digital Features for Customers
The upgraded services will include several advanced digital features, such as:
- OTP-based secure delivery
- End-to-end tracking with SMS alerts
- BNPL (Book Now Pay Later) facility for business customers
- Free pickup for bulk bookings
- API integration for businesses
- Centralized billing system
These features aim to enhance customer convenience and improve the overall delivery experience.
Money-Back Guarantee for Delayed Delivery
The postal department has also announced a money-back guarantee if the delivery is not completed within the promised time.
Officials said the initiative will strengthen India Post’s premium express delivery services and improve its competitiveness in the growing logistics and e-commerce sector.
