Bengaluru Startup Astrobase Gets India’s Biggest 3D Printer

Date:

Bengaluru: In a milestone for India’s advanced manufacturing sector, the largest 3D printer in the country has been delivered to Astrobase, a Bengaluru-based aerospace and space technology company. The state-of-the-art printer, capable of producing components on an industrial scale, is expected to significantly boost the company’s prototyping and manufacturing capabilities.

The 3D printer, measuring over several meters in length and width, can handle large metal and composite parts, allowing rapid fabrication of components that were previously time-consuming or impossible to manufacture using conventional methods. Astrobase plans to use the printer for satellite components, aerospace structures, and experimental technology development.

“Receiving India’s largest 3D printer is a game-changer for us,” said an Astrobase spokesperson. “It will accelerate our research and development, reduce lead times, and allow us to innovate at a scale that was not possible before.”

Experts say this delivery marks a significant step in India’s industrial 3D printing capabilities, highlighting the growing adoption of additive manufacturing in aerospace, defense, and heavy engineering sectors.

The printer is expected to become fully operational by mid-2026, with initial test runs already planned for large-scale aerospace parts. This development also strengthens Bengaluru’s position as a hub for cutting-edge manufacturing and space technology startups.
