New Coaches Rolled Out on Purple and Green Metro Lines to Improve Commuter Flow

Date:

Bengaluru, April 6: The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) has announced the introduction of new metro trains on the Purple and Green lines to ease congestion and enhance commuter experience.

The additional trains aim to increase capacity and reduce wait times, particularly during peak hours, on routes connecting major IT hubs, residential areas, and commercial centres. Officials said the deployment is part of a phased plan to expand the metro fleet in response to rising ridership across the city.

The new coaches are equipped with modern interiors, improved seating, and advanced safety features, ensuring a more comfortable and secure travel experience. BMRCL officials highlighted that this move will improve train frequency, shorten travel times, and help manage growing passenger demand efficiently.

Authorities emphasized that the initiative aligns with Bengaluru’s broader vision to promote mass rapid transit, reduce traffic congestion, and provide reliable public transport for the city’s commuters. Additional announcements regarding further fleet expansion and service enhancements are expected in the coming months.
