Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has pitched for transforming Bengaluru into India’s agri-tech capital, drawing parallels with the city’s globally recognised status as the country’s IT hub. The proposal aims to position the state capital at the forefront of agricultural innovation by leveraging technology, research, and industry collaboration.
The Chief Minister made the remarks while addressing a major agri-technology event, where he emphasised the need to integrate advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, data-driven farming, and modern agricultural practices into the sector. He highlighted that Bengaluru, already known as the “Silicon Valley of India”, has the ecosystem, talent pool, and infrastructure required to emerge as a global centre for agri-tech innovation.
