Amazon Opens Asia’s Largest Office in Bengaluru, Strengthens India Investment Plans

Bengaluru: Global e-commerce giant Amazon has expanded its presence in India with the inauguration of its largest office in Asia, located in Bengaluru. The facility is also Amazon’s second-largest office globally.

The new campus was inaugurated by Karnataka’s Minister for Large and Medium Industries, M. B. Patil.

11 Lakh Sq Ft Campus with Seating for 7,000+ Employees

Spread across 11 lakh square feet, the 12-storey office complex is built on five acres of land and is located approximately 15 kilometres from Kempegowda International Airport.

The facility has seating capacity for over 7,000 employees and will support multiple business verticals, including:

  • E-commerce operations
  • Payments
  • Technology development
  • Seller services
  • Logistics and operational functions

Strong Focus on Indian Market

The new office underscores Amazon’s long-term commitment to the Indian market. The company has already invested over $40 billion in India and plans to invest an additional $35 billion by 2030, further strengthening its operations and infrastructure in the country.

India remains a key growth market for Amazon, with continuous expansion in technology, digital payments, and seller ecosystem support.

Modern Amenities and Collaborative Workspaces

The new Bengaluru campus has been designed to encourage collaboration and flexibility. It features modern workspaces, meeting rooms, breakout zones, and large event spaces that can accommodate more than 200 people.

Employees will also have access to several lifestyle and recreational facilities, including:

  • Basketball and pickleball courts
  • An amphitheatre
  • Green outdoor spaces
  • Community interaction areas
  • Two-floor cafeteria offering global cuisine

The state-of-the-art infrastructure reflects Amazon’s focus on employee well-being, innovation, and sustainable workplace design.

With this launch, Bengaluru further cements its position as a leading global technology and business hub, while Amazon strengthens its footprint in one of its fastest-growing international markets.
