PM Modi in Odisha: ₹1 Lakh Crore Announced for Tribal Welfare, ₹25,000 Crore for Fishermen

Bhubaneswar, Odisha — Addressing a massive gathering at Janata Maidan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a sweeping ₹1 lakh crore welfare package focused on tribal communities, education, and rural development in Odisha. The announcement marks a major push by the BJP government to accelerate inclusive growth in the state.

PM Modi highlighted that tribal communities are experiencing real transformation under BJP leadership, pointing to enhanced infrastructure, better access to education, and healthcare services. “The tribal society of Odisha is witnessing the benefits of development, not just promises,” he said.

He also praised President Droupadi Murmu, a tribal leader from Odisha, calling her a symbol of empowerment and pride for the tribal community.

In a firm message against insurgency, Modi reiterated, “Ending Naxalism is my guarantee,” underlining the government’s strong stance on internal security and peace-building in tribal areas.

In a key move to support coastal livelihoods, PM Modi announced a ₹25,000 crore special fund for the welfare of fishermen, aimed at improving fishing infrastructure, providing modern boats, cold storage, and better market access.

The Prime Minister emphasized that village development and youth empowerment remain top priorities for his government, reaffirming BJP’s long-term commitment to Odisha’s progress.
