BY Vijayendra Meets HD Deve Gowda, Lauds His Concern for Nation

Bengaluru, Karnataka: BJP State President BY Vijayendra on Sunday met former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda to inquire about his health. The meeting, which lasted for nearly half an hour, also saw discussions on national politics and Deve Gowda’s reflections on his tenure as Prime Minister.

Speaking to reporters, Vijayendra said that Deve Gowda had recently written a letter congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit. In the letter, the veteran leader praised PM Modi’s bold decisions and expressed confidence in his leadership.

“Even at this age, Deve Gowda ji’s concern for the nation and the trust he places in the Prime Minister are a model for all of us. Today, we met him and received his blessings,” Vijayendra said.

The state BJP chief noted that Deve Gowda continues to actively engage with national issues despite his advancing age, and his words of advice remain valuable. “For about half an hour, he spoke about the country’s politics and also reflected on his own tenure as Prime Minister,” he added.

The meeting highlighted the mutual respect across party lines and underscored the significance of senior statesmen like Deve Gowda in shaping India’s political discourse.
