Bengaluru Faces Growing Infrastructure Crisis: BJP Leader N.L. Narendra Babu Stages Street Protest, Criticizes Government for Neglecting Road and Footpath Maintenance Amid Rising Safety Concerns

Date:

Bengaluru, Karnataka – Expressing concerns over deteriorating infrastructure, BJP leader N.L. Narendra Babu staged a street protest in Bengaluru on Tuesday, criticizing the state government for failing to maintain roads and footpaths.

Speaking at the protest, Babu said, “Bengaluru was once called a retired man’s paradise, IT City and BT City. Today, it has become ‘Pothole City’. Who is responsible for this? The present Government, where recently the CM said potholes should be filled up within one month. What were they doing all these days?”

Babu also pointed out that despite warnings from the Deputy Chief Minister to municipal officers, there has been little visible action on the ground. “The officers are not coming to the streets. Roads and footpaths of Bengaluru are not in order. We have come to the street to protest and fill up the potholes ourselves,” he added.

The protest involved party workers manually filling potholes at key locations, drawing attention to the persistent issues faced by daily commuters. Babu urged the authorities to take immediate action, warning that citizens’ safety is at stake due to the poor road conditions.

Bengaluru, once celebrated for its planned urban layout and IT-driven growth, has increasingly faced criticism for its infrastructure, particularly during the monsoon season, when potholes worsen and traffic hazards rise. The BJP leaders have demanded strict accountability and immediate repairs to ensure smoother commuting and safer streets for residents.
