India Emerging as Global Capability Center Hub, Says Aviation Minister at Airbus Technology Centre Launch

Bengaluru: Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu said India has emerged as a major hub for Global Capability Centers (GCCs), highlighting the establishment of Airbus’ second-largest digital centre outside Europe in India.

Speaking at the virtual inauguration of the Airbus India Technology Centre in Bengaluru, the Minister said the new facility reflects India’s growing strength in the global aerospace and technology ecosystem.

Airbus Expands Presence in India

Naidu noted that the new Airbus campus in Bengaluru, equipped with advanced engineering and innovation centres, demonstrates the country’s potential as a key destination for global technology and engineering operations.

He said the development is powered by India’s skilled and youthful workforce, which is increasingly contributing to cutting-edge innovation and research in the aviation sector.

Boost for Aerospace Innovation

According to the Minister, the Airbus India Technology Centre will allow Indian engineers and technology professionals to design and develop critical systems for Airbus commercial aircraft and helicopters operating across the world.

The centre is expected to strengthen India’s role in aerospace engineering, digital innovation and advanced aviation technologies.

India’s Growing Role in Global Capability Centers

Naidu said the establishment of Airbus’ digital centre highlights India’s rising status as a Global Capability Centers powerhouse, with multinational companies increasingly setting up advanced technology and innovation hubs in the country.

He added that such initiatives not only strengthen India’s aviation and aerospace ecosystem but also create opportunities for high-skilled employment and technological advancement in the country.
