PM Modi Commences Diplomatic Mission to Russia and Austria to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has embarked on a crucial diplomatic voyage to Russia and Austria, aiming to bolster India’s relations with these prominent European nations. His departure statement emphasized the opportunity to fortify bonds with countries that share enduring friendships with India.

“In the forthcoming days, I will be visiting Russia and Austria. These visits represent a valuable opportunity to deepen our ties with these nations, which have been built on a foundation of mutual respect and cooperation,” PM Modi stated, highlighting the historical and strategic importance of these bilateral relationships.

PM Modi expressed enthusiasm for engaging with the Indian diaspora in both Russia and Austria, recognizing their role as cultural ambassadors and contributors to enhancing bilateral relations. “I eagerly anticipate interacting with the vibrant Indian community in both countries,” he remarked.

During his stay in Russia, PM Modi is scheduled to engage in comprehensive discussions with President Vladimir Putin to review and expand bilateral cooperation across various sectors. “I look forward to discussing all aspects of our bilateral cooperation with President Putin and exchanging perspectives on regional and global issues of mutual interest,” PM Modi emphasized.

India and Russia, bound by a Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership, have made significant progress in sectors such as energy, security, trade, investment, health, education, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges over the past decade. PM Modi’s visit aims to build on these achievements and explore new avenues of collaboration.

Following his visit to Russia, PM Modi will travel to Austria, marking a landmark visit as the first Indian Prime Minister to visit the country in four decades. “During my visit to Austria, I look forward to meeting President Alexander Van der Bellen and Chancellor Karl Nehammer. Austria is a steadfast partner of India, sharing common values of democracy and pluralism,” PM Modi affirmed.

The visit underscores India’s commitment to enhancing its engagements with key global partners, fostering mutual prosperity, and contributing to regional and global stability. PM Modi’s diplomatic mission to Russia and Austria is expected to strengthen India’s strategic presence in Europe and pave the way for enhanced cooperation across diverse sectors in the foreseeable future.
