PM Modi Launches Bihar Jeevika Nidhi Saakh Sahkari Sangh, Emphasises Women Empowerment

Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday launched the Bihar Rajya Jeevika Nidhi Saakh Sahkari Sangh Limited, underscoring the central role of women in building a developed India. Calling empowered women the “cornerstone of a Viksit Bharat,” the Prime Minister said the initiative would provide Bihar’s women with greater financial independence and leadership opportunities.

The cooperative society, designed as a fully digital initiative, will ensure women across the state have easy access to financial services, while also facilitating benefits related to healthcare, housing, and social security. PM Modi noted that this would not only strengthen their economic participation but also boost their standing within households and communities.

Highlighting the broader vision behind the launch, PM Modi said, “The need of the hour is Har Ghar Swadeshi, Ghar-Ghar Swadeshi.” He emphasised that self-reliance at the grassroots level, particularly through women-led initiatives, would accelerate India’s journey towards becoming a global leader.

The Prime Minister lauded the efforts of women’s self-help groups in Bihar, crediting them with driving significant social and economic change. He assured that the government would continue to provide policy support and digital tools to enhance their productivity and income-generation capacity.

The event marked another step in the government’s ongoing focus on women-led development, aligning with national campaigns like Make in India and Vocal for Local.
