BJP Leader Chalavadi Narayanaswamy Accuses Karnataka Government of Appeasement Over Urdu School Timings

Date:

Bengaluru: BJP leader Chalavadi Narayanaswamy on Saturday criticised the Karnataka Education Department’s decision to revise school timings for Urdu schools during Ramzan, calling it an example of appeasement politics by the Congress government.

Narayanaswamy alleged that the Congress party consistently goes against Hindu interests, pointing out that even Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, a Hindu himself, is following the same approach. He questioned why special accommodations are being made for Ramzan but not for Hindu festivals or communities.

“If you are going to give special attention to Ramzan, why not to Hindus?” Narayanaswamy asked. He claimed that such actions give the impression that the government prioritises the Muslim community for electoral benefits.

“The people of Karnataka will feel that this government is only for the Muslims, for the benefit of votes,” he said, accusing the state administration of divisive politics.

The BJP leader’s remarks come amid growing debates over minority appeasement and secularism in Karnataka politics, with opposition parties increasingly vocal about alleged biases in government policies.
