Prime Minister Narendra Modi Extends Best Wishes to Indian Contingent for Paris Olympics

In his address during the 111th edition of ‘Mann ki Baat’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stirred anticipation and enthusiasm as he extended his heartfelt wishes to the Indian contingent gearing up for the upcoming Paris Olympics. Emphasizing the nation’s eagerness to cheer for its athletes, Modi recalled the resounding success of Indian players at the Tokyo Olympics and expressed confidence in their preparedness for the Paris Games.

“The memories of the Tokyo Olympics are still fresh in our minds,” remarked Prime Minister Modi, reflecting on the commendable performance of Indian athletes that resonated deeply with the entire nation. Following Tokyo, he highlighted the rigorous training and participation of Indian athletes in nearly nine hundred international competitions, illustrating their dedication and readiness for the upcoming challenges.

Addressing the diverse array of sports in which India will feature prominently at Paris, Modi underscored the groundbreaking participation of athletes in new categories such as wrestling and horse riding, showcasing the country’s expanding prowess in global sporting arenas.

“This time, our shooters, table tennis players, and athletes in various categories are set to captivate with their exceptional skills,” stated Prime Minister Modi, pointing out the unprecedented inclusion of Indian athletes in novel sporting disciplines.

The anticipation for the Paris Olympics is further fueled by India’s recent achievements in World Para Athletics Championship, chess, and badminton, where Indian players have consistently excelled, bringing glory to the nation.

Expressing his intent to personally meet the Indian Olympic team, Prime Minister Modi pledged to convey the nation’s unwavering support and encouragement. He called upon citizens to rally behind the athletes using the hashtag “Cheer For Bharat”, urging everyone to cheer and inspire the players throughout their Olympic journey.

“As our athletes embark on this journey, your support and enthusiasm will showcase the magic of India to the world,” Modi concluded, inspiring a collective wave of optimism and pride as India prepares to make its mark at the Paris Olympics, aiming not only for medals but also to win the hearts of millions back home.
