In a message shared on X, the Prime Minister said that Dr Ambedkar’s efforts towards building the nation continue to inspire generations. He emphasized that Babasaheb’s life and work motivate citizens to strive for a just, inclusive, and progressive society.


Architect of the Indian Constitution

Dr B.R. Ambedkar, widely known as Babasaheb, was the chief architect of the Indian Constitution and served as independent India’s first Law and Justice Minister. His role in shaping modern India’s legal and democratic framework remains unparalleled.


Champion of Social Equality

Born into a Dalit Mahar family in present-day Madhya Pradesh, Dr Ambedkar dedicated his life to fighting for the rights of marginalized communities. He is widely regarded as a pioneering leader in the movement for social equality and justice in India.


Legacy That Continues to Inspire

Dr Ambedkar passed away on December 6, 1956, leaving behind a lasting legacy of reform and empowerment. In recognition of his contributions, he was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1990.
