BJP Questions Rahul Gandhi’s Silence Over Alleged Karnataka Excise Scam

Date:

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on February 13, 2026, questioned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over what it described as his silence regarding the alleged Karnataka excise scam.

Addressing a press conference, BJP leaders said the matter, linked to alleged irregularities in the state’s excise administration, warrants a clear response from the Congress leadership. The party alleged that despite the seriousness of the accusations, senior Congress leaders have not publicly addressed the issue in detail.

The BJP stated that transparency and accountability are essential, particularly when allegations relate to public revenue and regulatory systems. Party representatives said the people of Karnataka deserve clarity and called upon the Congress to respond substantively to the charges being raised.

The controversy centres around alleged irregularities in excise-related decisions in Karnataka. While the BJP has sought explanations and demanded a thorough probe, the Congress has maintained that its government is functioning within legal frameworks and has dismissed opposition allegations in previous instances.

Political observers note that the issue has intensified the ongoing political contest between the BJP and Congress in Karnataka, with both sides exchanging claims and counterclaims ahead of key electoral developments.

As of now, no formal statement from Rahul Gandhi specifically addressing the allegations has been reported. The matter is expected to remain a focal point in the state’s political discourse in the coming days.
